Training a Pet Is Important and Easier With Training Aids
Training your pet is really important. By training your pet they will learn to follow your commands and will avoid doing damage to your home. In addition they will learn to trust you and form a deeper bond. The thing is, it’s difficult to train a pet. You need to really commit to the process and make sure that you’re going to do well by them.
The best thing you can do if you are going to train your pet is to get your hands on some excellent training aids. These can assist you in making sure that your pet learns to obey your commands. There are a lot of different items which can make a big difference in a training regime. Dogs are the most common pets to train and most training aids are aimed at them. But they are not the only pets to get trained.
Training Aids for Dogs
There are a lot of great things you can train your dog to do. You want to train them to only use the outdoors for their bowel movements. You want to train them to walk properly beside you as you take them for exercise. You might want to train them to do some fun tricks so they can show off. Some of the training aids you’ll want to get include:
- Treats - Most dogs respond to treats when you are training them. You use treats to reward them when they do the correct behavior. In addition to the treats you want to get a treat bag or pouch. Good treats can be a bit smelly and be a bit moist. These aren’t the things you want to carry around in your pocket.
- Clickers - Training clickers are a great way to signal your dog when it does something good. Use treats and the clicker together to build a positive feeling in the dog to the sound. After enough treats and clicks, it will believe that the click sound equals a positive reaction. Then, you can reward the dog just with the sound of the clicker when it’s doing good deeds during training.
- Pee Pads - These can be a great way to train your dog to pee in the right place. This is important if you live in an apartment and can’t always take them to the full outside and have to use a balcony.,
- Long Leads - These are leashes which are very long and let the dog get around 30 feet away from you. These are important as they will let you teach a dog to come to you or the proper movement that it should be exhibiting without the chance it can run away.
Crates - Crate training can be really beneficial
Training Aids for Cats
Cats are more difficult to train than other pets, but it’s not impossible! They can be trained to do a number of things and to behave in certain ways. Some of the common aids that they need are:
- Clickers and Treats - These are exactly the same as those above and used in roughly the same fashion.
- Mats - Mats will help with training cats to understand where their “spot” is. This can be on a table, or more likely on the ground somewhere or even their bed. If you have multiple cats, then this is really useful in case they are being troublesome with each other.
- Target Sticks - These are sticks which you use to teach a cat to touch with their paw or their nose. The stick can extend. This allows you to work with them from up close, or from far away. Many target sticks will also have a built in clicker on them to combine the training aids together.
